New Product Breakthrough | Next-Generation Low-Temperature-Drift 976nm Pump Module Launched

DoGain officially launches the new-generation 976nm pump module. Equipped with self-developed 976nm LC low-temperature-drift coefficient laser chips, it achieves minimal wavelength fluctuation within wide current and temperature ranges with excellent low temperature drift performance, featuring far superior spectral stability compared with traditional 976nm chip solutions. It is suitable for various laser application scenarios with strict requirements on wavelength precision, boasts strong environmental adaptability and can operate stably under diverse working conditions. Application Background

At present, fiber lasers adopting traditional 976nm pump sources are confronted with multiple technical bottlenecks in practical use, which restrict their performance, cost control and scenario adaptability, mainly reflected in the following two aspects:

1、Slow start-up response and high cost of compensation solutions

Traditional 976nm pump sources feature a large wavelength drift coefficient and relatively low designed cold wavelength of chips. Consequently, it takes a long time for lasers to reach rated power after startup, undermining system response speed and operational stability. To shorten the start-up period, high-current compensation is widely adopted in existing solutions, which greatly raises system complexity and overall equipment cost.In addition, active fibers have a narrow absorption spectrum for 976nm wavelength, making laser output power highly sensitive to pump wavelength variations and ambient temperature changes, thus making steady power output hard to achieve. To restrain power fluctuation, high-precision temperature control systems are indispensable to stabilize pump wavelengths, which further increases the overall system cost.

2、Limited application in air-cooled scenarios, difficulty in balancing volume and efficiency

For air-cooled fiber lasers with wide ambient temperature variation ranges, conventional 976nm pump sources fail to meet usage requirements due to insufficient wavelength stability. The industry is thus forced to adopt 915nm pump sources with lower photoelectric conversion efficiency.

To reach the same output power, the 915nm solution demands higher pump power, which increases heat dissipation pressure. Meanwhile, longer active fibers are required, leading to larger fiber coil sizes. This fails to fit the development trend of equipment miniaturization and lightweight design.To solve the above industry pain points, DoGain has launched laser pump modules equipped with high-spectral-stability 976nm LC chips, delivering more efficient, stable and cost-competitive pumping solutions for fiber lasers.

Development Achievements

The product has passed reliability and service life tests, and completed 3000-hour high-temperature aging verification. It has successfully finished field tests and validation by mainstream fiber laser manufacturers, winning high recognition in core indicators including start-up response speed and output power stability.

Product Features

1. Low Wavelength Drift:

Under the same water-cooled test conditions, this product achieves far lower wavelength drift than traditional 976nm chip pump sources. Within the wide current range of 0~35A, the total wavelength drift is no more than 6.5nm, and the minimum wavelength-current drift coefficient reaches 0.18nm/A, greatly outperforming conventional FP chip solutions with total drift generally above 10.5nm.

 

2. Slight Temperature-induced Wavelength Shift:

Tested at fixed current points under different ambient temperatures, the wavelength drift is steadily controlled within 6.5nm, delivering outstanding environmental adaptability.

3、Rapid Stabilization of Fiber Laser Output Power

Benefiting from the excellent low temperature drift performance of LC chips, the wavelength of the pump source can be stabilized within the effective absorption band of fiber lasers in seconds after startup. It effectively boosts the power response speed and enables the laser to reach rated power rapidly.


4、High Reliability & Long Service Life

The product has passed 3000-hour high-temperature aging test with zero failure during verification. It fully proves excellent environmental adaptability and long-term operational stability under harsh working conditions, providing solid guarantee for continuous operation scenarios.
